Tobias, thank you for your kind words. I am not planning to cover both sides. I just need to decide which side to leave open but will stop here for now and evaluate. Are you covering both sides completely?
Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery! Glad to hear the surgery went well, now just focus on healing up. The shipyard will be ready and waiting when you're back in action. In the meantime, take it easy and let the crew here keep the waters warm for you! Happy Easter.Well, the shipyard will be closed for a while…
Shoulder replacement surgery went well but now my arm is immobilized for a few weeks at least.

Happy Easter everyone.
These oak planks are awsome!I just realized that it’s been almost a month since I was in the shipyard. But I guess that’s life. I’m instead in the process of building a bed frame for a friend. I’ll return to Le Rochefort once it’s done.

Happy Easter everyone.
Nice to see you back at the bench, Oliver.Well it’s been just over 11 weeks since surgery and I’m slowly getting mobility back. I have about 60-90% range of motion depending on which direction I move my arm. So, all-in-all I’m mostly pain free and I’m back in the shipyard trying to figure out where left off.
I believe next step is the work on the wales.

I played around with various methods to ebonize my wood to mimic ebony. Various wood dies and stains have been disappointing but using India Ink seems to OK.

I’ll try a few more samples and may simply need to find a US source for black hornbeam… we’ll see.
