the Colonial Schooner Hannah in 1/48 [COMPLETED BUILD]

Does holding thumbs mean I wish you luck? Is that a European thing?
Yes - holding thumbs and crossing fingers are the same things. vic, I'm not sure if it is European or just South African! :)

I seem to remember from my German studies decades ago that they called it „die Daumen drücken.” I think that’s pretty much what you said. Language is so fascinating—almost as much as model building.

Hello dear friends
Today I finished installing all the parts of the channels. The truth is that the process was relatively easy and systematic.

At the beginning I glued the support angles to the shelf, then I glued the shelf with the support angles to the hull.
Next I installed the blocks to the shelf, and after the glue dried I closed the shelf on the outside (pear wood).
At the end of the process I attached the brass board to the rings and body of the ship.

I attach pictures documenting the process and the result, which I am satisfied with.

I thought the supports were supposed to be above the channel.91E77EBE-F251-49A5-9698-598A6EAA5598.jpeg

The fine little details are coming together shota! Looking good. I know your a little ways off but be sure to align your dead eyes before rigging the shroud lines.

I think that you really have to love rigging to take on square riggers. Rich

Your build is coming along very nicely Shota. Just make sure that your deadeyes are installed correctly.

The two holes are at the top and the single hole at the bottom - in other words, they look like a little face.

Yes for bottom deadeyes while those immediately above are the opposite making the lacing pair a mirror of each other, if I am reading you correctly. Rich

My dear friends Thank you so much for the guidance, it is important to me.
Please note that the current model will have no full masts and no rope ladders

Hello dear friends
Today I continued the construction process, focusing on building the outer columns on which the small cannons were installed. I admit that I am not familiar with the professional name of these pillars and the type of guns, I would love to learn from you friends.
I would love for you to take a look at the drawings and photos I will attach and direct me to sites that sell cannons like no other.

The last picture is from the practicum, you can clearly see the type of cannons in it.
Wishing us all a continued and enjoyable weekend

The cannon is called a Falkonet if I am not mistaken. As to where to obtain it in the West, I am sure our SOS members will point you in the right direction.
