POF L'Amarante Corvette de 12 canons 1744 1:36 (Ancre Monograph- Gérard Delacroix) By Shota

my dear friend Marco
I am building this model in Admiralty style, so the masts and rigging will be accordingly, meaning they will be very partially
What I'll be writing will probably not be met with much enthusiasm and/or applause, but I want to share my views with regards to masts, sails and rigging on a ship's model.

An Admiralty style build put emphasis on the hull's structure and not so much on other systems/elements and I find myself immensely enjoying and appreciating the associated PoF build style, but...
To me sailingship models without masts, sails (furled or set) and rigging are "incomplete"; it's like presenting a Spitfire without propellor and engine, which essentially is the heart of the beast.
While being able to show the internal arrangement of the hull has various purposes and the shape is determining the hydrodynamic properties of the hull, the driving force is generated by the sails, supported and controlled by the masts, spars and rigging.
And that's why I could not easily convince myself to build a true Admiralty style model, notwithstanding the fact that I am truly impressed by the beauty and complexity of Admiralty style builds.
And last but not least, a slightly closer look at the various Admiralty style builds here on SOS and elsewhere (including this particular build) will uncover the craftsmanship and ingenuity those builders possess.

My apologies for hijacking your build with my musings, Shota.

Hello dear friends
It's have been a few weeks since my last update, these weeks were dedicated to creating the inner planking of the ship's side.
Today I finished installing the inner part of the ship's deck.
Next week I will install the brass nails.
I would like to wish you all a happy and sweet New Year's Eve starting tonight.
I wish us all a year of happiness, joy, success, peace and tranquility.
May we continue to be friends and enjoy our special hobby

A nice personal touch, Shota. With the different wood colors and ‘looking through parts’.
Regards, Peter

I agree with above. The wood tones are beautiful.

I like being able to clearly see the internals on your beautiful ship Shota.
Beautiful !!! She looks great ! your work is wonderful !
A very interesting presentation, Shota!
The ship is coming along nicely! I like the mixed tonality of the browns in your wood. Too often it is so "even coloured", it is actually rather dull.
my dear friend
Thank you all And to all the other good friends so much for the warm words and compliments, for the likes and smileys full of love.
The different shades are created from different Swiss/European pear trees, I'm glad they pleased you.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish us all a happy and prosperous new year.

Piękna praca Shoto .Deski środku trudno się kładzie Pozdrawiam Mirek
Dziękuję bardzo, drogi przyjacielu Mirek, za komplement.
Rzeczywiście, montaż drewnianych paneli w środku był skomplikowany.

Thank you very much, my dear friend Mirek, for the compliment.
Indeed, installing the wooden panels in the center was complex.

Hello my dear friends
I spend the holidays with crafting the ship and having festive meals with my family.
Yesterday I cooked the holiday meal which included - a grilled entrecote, grilled ribs, meatballs, chicken shawarma, grilled vegetables in marinade, and more side dishes.
The most fun thing is that the family liked what I prepared :D
Today I started to installing the nails on the planking boards of the inner wall.
I am attaching the drawing of the monograph which shows that there are two sizes of nails, the largest in boards 6-7 and all the rest are small. I chose a square wire of 0.6 mm and a wire of 0.4 mm.
I am attaching a first and small section of the work, about 130 out of about 2000.
And finally I share a beautiful sunset that I just experienced on a trip.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and enjoy our creations
