Don
Oh my god, 6-7 hour one? How many of those you have to do?I got back to finish my Cannon barrels. Now, I need to drill out the hole for the Trunnion. The Trunnion diameter (as far as my measurements see) according to the AOTS book is the same diameter as the cannon bore. The hole will be drilled first, then the Trunnion will be made to fit. Making two cannons without a (die) template and only using the plans and calipers is a fairly decent job granted you have the patience to transfer measurements and to take your time. So, therefore, considering the amount of time I wish to spend on these gives the results. For better or worse, this is the final product. They will be painted flat black or blackened.
I did not track the time, but I might say about 6 - 7 hours to make each.
