Hello dear friends of model making. After several attempts I managed to finish the bow, I think it should be 4.0 or so. Yes, I had my problems but I was able to achieve a reasonably good result. My first attempt was a few months ago and it was actually not bad, but I sanded it according to the instructions and probably a bit too much in the upper area. As I said, after a few attempts I was wiser. As I now know, it was not the sanding but the fitting of the individual parts, which in turn have no glue markings, and that was my problem as it now turned out. I also fixed the keelson and started with the limberboard (1x1mm), the inner planking will follow in the next few days.

Hello Christian, yes it is really fun and relatively well described but my lack of English can be a bit confusing.

The first planks are fitted and glued. It is very tedious, each plank is adjusted with the plane-> tapering to the bow and stern.

Hello Stephan, thank you for your interest, it looks more difficult than it is. However, it is very time consuming as each plank has to be adjusted to get a reasonably good result.

So impressive Tobias. I’m sure it is tedious to customize each plank but the value is seen in the result. I am constantly amazed and impressed by your fast learning curve.

Wonderful work Tobias! I see some small Xs and Os on your futtock timbers. They remind me of a game we played when I was young, Tic-Tac-Toe. Would you share the purpose of those marks. Your joinery is flawless, so I'm trying to understand their purpose.

Hello everyone,

I have continued with the inner planks, one plank needs to be partially dovetailed by inserting boards to prevent debris from falling between the inner and outer planks.

First the plan of the inner planks



Adjust the plank and mill grooves at a 15 degree angle.





Gluing in the plank and waiting, during which I made the inlay boards.
