hello my dear friends
I'm in the middle of working on the front of the bow.
During the work I identified differences that I would like to share with you and wish to receive guidance and assistance in formulating the work method.
As you saw in the previous updates, the two quarters of the crescent in which the floral decoration is located, are intact.
However, in advanced drawings, a change in the configuration of the crescent's quarters is identified, so that the lower one is cut in the upper/front part and so is the decoration between the quarters cut diagonally.
On the slope is placed a decoration of the French monarchy, as you will see in the drawings and pictures from the fine works of Giampy65 and Tobias.
The questions are:
Do I understand correctly that actually the shape of the three parts changes so that you get the symbol of the French royal house?
I also see that the members produced the parts whole and only towards the end of the process changed their configuration, so why not do it in the first place?
Cutting when the parts are glued can be complex and possibly dangerous for the model. Is there an explanation for this?
Also, since there are other parts that sit/connect to this part, what is the correct/desired order and method of work in preparing and fitting them to the bow

Fabulous work!! I love that the drawings show the substantial tapering of the knee of the head from where it meets the stem to the forward end. This is often missed, but the Ancre drawings always seem to be among the very best due to the thorough research that goes into preparing them.

Hello dear Shota, as you have already mentioned, you are absolutely right, the decoration in the spur is divided into three parts in the plans. I think the reason for this is the size in the original, I will make it from one piece. It is not very big and very delicate. You have to be careful because my decoration is different from that of L' Amarante.

Good evening dear friends
This evening I continued with the experiments and testing of the desired work method to create the floral decoration which is embedded between the two black quarters of the crescent, and which together form the front/front of the bow.
At this stage I used the laser burner, I drew two layers, the first of a full cut of the decoration frame and the outlines of the flowers. The second layer is the result of the other decorations that do not require deep/full burning, but rather a marking for continued fine carving later.
I made several samples, the first of a full thickness of 3 mm, which the burning method on one side is not sufficient. The second of two panels of 1.6 mm thickness. Sticking both gives the same burn on both sides, when lowering the tenth of a millimeter on each side removes soot. Unfortunately at this stage I used an increased burn poison which created soot beyond the required level. Tomorrow I will reduce the extent of the burns to reduce the amount of visible soot.
I think I would prefer the second method which is better, because it reduces the visibility of the soot as well.
The experiment is currently being carried out on a European pear , after achieving a desired result, it will be applied to boxwood.

Dziękuję bardzo, drogi przyjacielu Mirek, za słowa otuchy, ja też myślę, że trochę piaskowania i czyszczenia doprowadzi do pięknego efektu

Hi Shota, in my mind I did not understand how a laser could etch out a carving that does not go all the way through the wood. Your explanation of the laser just surface burning the wood and then you just remove the char for a completed relief view of the contours left behind was what made perfect sense.

I can determine the intensity of the burn, speed and amount of the burn.
The various experiments are designed to achieve the desired result, from drawing to engraving/deep cutting.

I think you should take a look on Bill Short on MSW, he also sells here a PDF on how he does the carving. It's simpel and with a little practice you can make wonderful things and in combination with your laser tool! It can be even more.
